[ARCHIVED] Man robs two businesses within 10 minutes of each other

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man armed with a gun robbed two businesses within 10 minutes of each other Sunday evening.

Detectives say the suspect first entered the Walgreens at 8609 Tidewater Drive at about 7:20 p.m.  The man displayed a handgun and demanded cigarettes from the cashier. 

After robbing the store, detectives say the suspect went to the McDonalds located at 8402 Tidewater Drive at about 7:30 p.m.

Once inside the McDonalds, the man walked up to the counter, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. 

No one was injured in either robbery.

The suspect has been described as a white man in his late forties to early fifties, and around five feet 8 inches tall.  He was last seen wearing a blue and grey plaid hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and white shoes.
