[ARCHIVED] Police arrest man in connection with a shooting on Harmon Street

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a shooting Thursday night that left one woman injured.

Around 9 p.m. Thursday night, police officers patrolling on Harmon Street heard multiple gunshots in the 1600 block of Harmon Street.  As police arrived on scene, they observed a man running from the location. 

After a brief foot pursuit, and a search of the area, Antoine Harris was taken into custody without incident.

While police were searching for Harris, other officers found a 31-year-old woman inside a residence in the 1600 block of Harmon Street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries; however, she is expected to recover.

Harris, of the Delaware, has been charged with malicious wounding, use of firearm in commission of a felony, and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Harris is currently held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
