[ARCHIVED] Homicide investigation underway after man found shot on Peronne Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A homicide investigation is underway in the Fairmont Manor section of Norfolk Thursday night, after a man was found shot.

Around 10:40 p.m., dispatchers received an emergency call near Peronne Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard for a man who had been shot. 

When police and paramedics arrived, they located a 23-year-old man outside in the 3100 block of Peronne Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment; however, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. 

Detectives have not released any suspect or motive information.
