[ARCHIVED] Police identify the teenager shot and killed Wednesday evening


NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police have identified the 17-year-old that was fatally shot Wednesday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Olney Road around 8:20 p.m. for gunshots heard in the area. When police arrived, they found two teenagers suffering with apparent gunshot wounds.

Both teenagers were transported by paramedics to the hospital. The young woman was treated and released. The young man, Kaison Mitchell of Portsmouth, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Police have not released a motive or any suspect information at this time.
