[ARCHIVED] Gunshot disturbance leaves one person dead

NORFOLK, Va. - (NPD) Police are investigating a gunshot disturbance that has left one person dead.

Just after midnight, Norfolk dispatchers received multiple calls for shots heard in the 8600 block of Glen Myrtle Avenue at the Breezy Point Apartments. When police arrived they found a man outside the apartments suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The preliminary investigation suggests this incident may have stemmed from a possible home invasion. Residents can expect police to remain on scene as detectives canvass the area for more information about what may have lead up to this shooting.
