NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) Norfolk police have released new details involving a shooting that resulted in the death of a 49-year-old woman in the Chesterfield Heights area of Norfolk Sunday evening.

Preliminary information has revealed that a verbal altercation occurred between two parties in the 2700 block of Kimball Terrace.  The altercation involved 50-year-old Ulysses Butler and 41-year-old Ronald Best.  After the verbal exchange, Best returned to his vehicle, parked in the 2700 block of Kimball Terrace.  Butler then produced a firearm and shot several rounds at Best, incidentally striking the vehicle.  Best sustained a non-life threatening injury from shattered glass.

Ronald M. Best, of the 1000 block of Greenwood Street in Norfolk, has been charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
