NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - A teenager was taken to the hospital after a drive-by shooting in Norfolk overnight.
Police say the 17-year-old young man was walking on Albert Avenue toward Sewells Point Road when a vehicle pulled up and someone from inside the car opened fire just before 11:30, late Tuesday night.
The teen was stuck multiple times; however, was able to walk to a friend’s house in the 6600 block of Sewells Point Road, where police were called. He was quickly taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, and is expected to recover.
Police also discovered that a home in the 6600 block of Sewells Point road was struck by a stray bullet.
There were no other injuries reported.
Detectives have not released any description of the gunman, or motive for this shooting; however, it appears to be an isolated incident.
