[ARCHIVED] One injured, one detained in shooting at a Norfolk McDonald’s

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – One man was taken to the hospital, and one man was detained after a shooting in a McDonald’s Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 9 a.m., police were called to the McDonald’s at 2328 E. Princess Anne Road for a gunshot disturbance.  When police arrived, they found a 38-year-old man inside the restaurant who had been shot.  He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, and is expected to be okay.

Police also detained a 54-year-old man at the scene, and are not looking for any more suspects.  

"We take the safety of our employees and customers very seriously and are working with the proper authorities to assist in their investigation," said JS&J Restaurants Inc, a local McDonald's franchise organization.

There were no other injuries reported.
