[ARCHIVED] A man is in critical condition following a malicious wounding


NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police are investigating the malicious wounding last night that has left an adult man in critical condition.

Around 5:50 p.m. on July 24, 2017 police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Olney Road for a gunshot disturbance. When police arrived, they found a 22-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by paramedics and remains in critical but stable condition this morning.   

Detectives have not released any further details, or a motive surrounding the shooting; however, it appears to be an isolated incident.
