[ARCHIVED] Man stabbed, listed in critical condition

NORFOLK, Va (NPD) – A man was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries after being stabbed Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:40 a.m., police and paramedics were called to the 5500 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard for a possible stabbing victim.  Upon arrival, police located a man suffering from a severe laceration.  Paramedics immediately transported him from the scene to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  The 36-year-old man is listed in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

During the course of the preliminary investigation, police discovered the stabbing incident was a result of an altercation between two individuals.  Police positively identified the second party involved, an adult male, and took him into custody without further incident.
