NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Two suspects were shot during a home invasion Sunday night on W. 50th Street in Norfolk.
Around 10:45 p.m., on November 5, 2017, police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of W. 50th Street for a home invasion. When police arrived, two men, ages 20 and 21, told them that while they were inside their home two unknown men with guns entered. During the incident, both suspects were shot and fled the scene.
Shortly thereafter, both suspects arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Police detained both men at the hospital and both were subsequently charged.
Jamel Bryant, 21, of the 1500 block of Berkley Avenue Extended and J-Quan Reap, 21, of the 500 block of W. 27th Street were both charged with two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, armed burglary, and attempted malicious wounding.
Bryant, picture above, is currently being held in the Norfolk Jail with no bond. Once Reap is released from the hospital, he will be transported to the Norfolk City Jail.
The two men in the home were not injured during the incident.
Police have not released the circumstances surrounding how the two suspects were shot.
