[ARCHIVED] Man dies from injuries following overnight shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are actively investigating a homicide after a man died from injuries sustained in a shooting early Monday morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., police were called to the 800 block of West 35th Street for reports of gunshot disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found a man outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue Medics took the man to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries; however, he died shortly after arrival. His information will be release after his family has been notified.

Detectives have not release a motive or suspect description for this case; however, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
