[ARCHIVED] Victim identified in Denby Park murder

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the 400 block of E. Little Creek Road, Wednesday evening.

Just before 6:10 p.m., dispatch received multiple calls about a suspicious situation regarding a man lying on the ground in Denby Park.  When officers arrived, they found Lanxter L. Kuykendall, 44, lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Kuykendall, of the 400 block of E. Little Creek Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has revealed that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex located at 423 E. Little Creek Road.

Detectives have not released a motive or suspect description; however, they ask anyone with information to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
