[ARCHIVED] One man is dead and one man is in custody after a shooting in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the Campostella section of the city leaving one man dead and one man in police custody.   

Around 8:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Olinger Street for a person possibly suffering with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

An adult man was taken into custody by police at the location. He is currently being questioned by detectives at the Police Operations Center on E. Va. Beach Boulevard. If charges are secured against him, his identification and list of charges will be released.

Police have classified this as an active homicide investigation.
