[ARCHIVED] Ever wonder what a police academy is like?

CPA.jpgNORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Ever wonder what a police academy is like? You can find out firsthand by signing up for the spring session of our Citizens Police Academy.

The Citizens Police Academy is your opportunity to learn how our police department works, to meet officers who work in your community, and to learn more about what it means to be a police officer in Norfolk today.

The goal of this academy is to build relationships between officers and the community through a better understanding of our jobs and functions. It also provides a forum for feedback and suggestions for improvement. Each week, one or more topics will be discussed by members of the department. You will have opportunities for hands-on practical exercises where appropriate.

The spring session will begin March 29, 2018, and will end June 21, 2018. Applications are being accepted now.

Classes are held on Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Second Patrol Division, located at 2500 North Military Highway Norfolk, VA 23502.

Due to the popularity of this class, it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible to reserve your place. Applications may be obtained by calling ... View more or emailing:
