[ARCHIVED] Motorcyclist suffers life threatening injuries in morning crash

NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) The Norfolk Police Traffic Fatality Team is investigating a motor vehicle accident that left a motorcyclist in serious condition.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. police were called to the 700 block of N. Newtown Road for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.  When police and paramedics arrived, they found an adult man lying in the street with serious injuries.

Paramedics quickly transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life threatening injuries.

South bound lanes in the 700 block of N. Newtown Road are closed at this time as the Traffic Fatality Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this accident.

The driver of the vehicle remained on-scene after the crash. 

Charges are pending the conclusion of the investigation.
