May 1, 2018 General Election. Officers of Election serve inside the polls on Election Day. You must be 18 years of age or older and a registered voter within the state of Virginia to work the polls as an Officer of Election. There is compensation for volunteering to serve as an Officer of Election. We need assistance at most of our polling locations in Norfolk
