[ARCHIVED] A Norfolk city truck hits a HRT bus, sending several people to area hospitals

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A City of Norfolk dump truck struck a Hampton Roads Transit bus this morning injuring 11 people.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m., a HRT bus was at the bus stop located at 26th Street and Waverly Way when a dump truck, traveling westbound, side swiped the bus. The crash caused the dump truck to cross in front of the bus producing heavy front-end damage to the bus. The truck continued onto the grass crashing into the sign and fence of Faith Deliverance Christian Center. 

Eleven people were transported to various local hospitals all with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time, neither driver has been issued a summons.
