[ARCHIVED] 20-year-old man dies from injuries sustained in shooting on Thompson Road

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Police are investigating a homicide after a 20-year-old man died at the hospital following a shooting Friday night.

Around 9:45 p.m., dispatchers received a call for a gunshot disturbance in the 7900 block of Thompson Road. When police arrived, they found Jalen C.Barnhill outside suffering from a gunshot wound.

Barnhill, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue, was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Detectives have not released any suspect information, motive, or circumstance surrounding this shooting; however, they ask anyone with information to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
