NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have charged a Norfolk man in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred April 20, 2018 in the 7900 block of Thompson Road.
Tyree S. Holt, 28, has been charged with the shooting death of 20-year-old Jalen C. Barnhill.
Around 9:45 p.m., dispatchers received a call for a gunshot disturbance in the 7900 block of Thompson Road. When police arrived, they found Jalen C.Barnhill outside suffering from a gunshot wound.
Barnhill, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue, was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Holt, of the 8500 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Detectives have not released the motive surrounding this deadly shooting incident.
