Please join the Norfolk Police Department for their annual Peace Officers’ Memorial Day Service on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in front of the City Hall complex at 810 Union Street.

Since 1962, the week of May 15th has been designated National Police Week by the Congress of the United States. Each year, the Norfolk Police Department holds a service to honor the memory of the 39 Norfolk police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while working to keep citizens safe and proudly wearing the badge. During the service, they also pay tribute to surviving family members of their fallen officers. We welcome your presence and support.

The Honorable Mayor Kenneth Alexander will provide the official proclamation.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. After the service, a brief reception will follow. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held inside City Hall, in City Council Chambers.
