[ARCHIVED] Double shooting leaves one dead and one injured

NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) Police are investigating a shooting that has left one person dead and one injured.

Just after 11:45 p.m. on June 1, 2018, police were called to the 900 block of Bagnall Road for a gunshot disturbance. When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Maurice Hyman lying the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. Hyman was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

While police were on scene, they were notified that a 31-year-old man arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The investigation has revealed that both men were shot in the 900 block of Bagnall Road.  

On June 6, 2018, Hyman died from his injuries sustained in the shooting.

Detectives have classified this as a homicide investigation and encourage anyone with information about these shootings to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
