NCSB will mark National Recovery Month with a family-friendly community event, “Recovery in the Park”.
NORFOLK, VA – The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) will mark National Recovery Month with a family-friendly community event, “Recovery in the Park”. Recovery in The Park will take place September 29th 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Lafayette Park, 3500 Granby St.
This FREE event will include peer recovery support services, informational resources regarding city services, live entertainment and free health screenings.
As part of National Recovery Month, an annual observance sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Recovery in the Park gives residents the opportunity to celebrate wellness with loved ones and friends. The event will help raise awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and promote the message that behavioral health plays an essential role in effective treatment and recovery.
This event is a collaborative effort between the regional community services boards of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth.
