NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 20-year-old Norfolk man has been
arrested for the murder of a 23-year-old man who was shot to death on Wayland
Street early Sunday morning.
Tyquan Shakir Winslow, of the 6400 block of Faraday Court, has
been charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of
a felony in the death of Christopher DeShawn Martin.
Around 12:50 a.m., police responded to the 8500 block of
Wayland Street for a gunshot disturbance. When they arrived, they found Martin outside
suffering from a gunshot wound.
Martin, of the 600 block of Mariners Way, was
pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have not released any suspect information,
motive, or circumstance surrounding this shooting. This is the 27th homicide this
year for Norfolk, with 21 of those cases cleared by an arrest.
