NORFOLK, VA: The Norfolk Admirals begin their 30th Anniversary season this Saturday, October 13 at Scope Arena. Puck drops at 7:00 PM, but the fun begins at 4:00 PM in the Scope Exhibition Hall for the pregame party featuring interactive games, music, and more.
Opening night features several great giveaway items: the first 1,500 fans will receive Supergirl jerseys courtesy of WGNT-27 and the first 3,000 through the gates will receive a free magnet schedule courtesy of Spare Times Bowling.
Patrons may notice an across-campus facelift, starting with the digital marquee at the corner of St. Paul’s and Brambleton. A new arena scoreboard and lower bowl seats bring fans closer to the action than ever before. Add to that refurbished meeting rooms, a group seating area, and the addition of new graphic elements and signage, and Scope is set to shine this Saturday, just in time for the Admirals’ historic anniversary.
Additions to the beer lineup include Smartmouth’s “Murphy’s Law” and “Game On,” Coelacanth’s “Old Glory,” and Virginia Beer Company’s “Free Verse.” Refurbished concession stands are pending, and a fresh menu and bill of fare in the arena restaurant—newly minted, The Pub—are in the works. For now, fans can nosh on exciting new concepts in concessions, ranging from the “Chessie,” a monstrous breaded pork tenderloin, to the “Snallygaster”—nachos topped with seasoned beef and all the fixings.
