[ARCHIVED] Medical Examiner rules undetermined death as a homicide

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk has ruled a death a homicide after an autopsy was conducted on a woman who was found deceased in a hotel room in July.

On July 15, 2018 around 12:30 p.m., police responded to the Ramada Inn located at 515 North Military Highway for a report of an unresponsive woman inside a hotel room. When police and paramedics arrived, they located 48-year-old Cassandra T. Saunders. Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saunders’ cause of death was undetermined until the Medical Examiner ruled her death as a homicide. Detectives have not released the manner of death or other details surrounding this case.
