NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have charged a man in connection with the Tuesday morning death of a child.
Around 9:40 a.m., Norfolk Fire-Rescue along with Norfolk Police responded to the 300 block of Nicholson Street for a 9-month old that was unresponsive. When first responders arrived, they rushed her to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters; however, she died shortly after arriving.
The child’s death was initially investigated as undetermined until the Medical Examiner ruled her death as a homicide. Detectives have not released the cause of death or other details surrounding this case.
As a result of the investigation, detectives have charged the child’s father, 28-year-old Kasiam A. Tinsley with Second Degree Murder.
Tinsley, of the 300 block of Nicholson Street, is currently being held in the City of Norfolk Jail without bond.
