[ARCHIVED] The City of Norfolk launches The Downtown Update 2030

Join us in creating a Vision for the Next Decade

NORFOLK, VA –  What’s your vision for the future of downtown Norfolk?  It’s time to update the Downtown Plan and your input will help chart Downtown Norfolk’s course for the next decade.

The City is hosting two sessions on November 29, 2018:
  • 8:00AM-9:30AM at Decker Half Moone Center
  • 6:00PM-7:30PM at Slover Library
The City of Norfolk updates The Downtown Plan every ten years. The Downtown Update 2030 will provide strategies for keeping development, infrastructure, and services aligned with the vision for the City.

In the past, Norfolk was able to revitalize Downtown because the plan connected to and drew from the strengths of the neighborhoods. Freemason and Ghent brought strength to the empty streets of Downtown. Now it is Downtown’s turn to leverage our strength and bring vitality to the NEON District, St. Paul’s Area, Fort Norfolk, and beyond.

The Downtown Plan 2030 needs the input of everyone who lives in, works in, owns property in, and loves spending time in Downtown Norfolk! Please join the City and our consultants Ray Gindroz, WPA, and Urban Design Associates as we work to implement your vision.
