[ARCHIVED] Norfolk man charged with murder in disappearance of 18-year-old

On March 2, 2015, 18-year-old Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell was reported missing to the Norfolk Police Department. Anjelica Hadsell’s body was discovered on April 9, 2015, in Southampton County, Virginia.

Today a person of interest in the case has been charged with her death.

The Grand Jury meeting in Southampton County today indicted 40-year-old Wesley Paul Hadsell on 1 count of First Degree Murder, 1 count of Second Degree Felony Murder, and 1 count of Felony Concealment of a Dead Body.  The Office of the Southampton County Commonwealth's Attorney working with the Norfolk Police Department sought the indictments and the Grand Jury returned true bills to each indictment. The process to return Hadsell to Southampton County for prosecution will now begin.

The Norfolk Police Department has no additional information to provide at this time.  The Office of the Southampton County Commonwealth's Attorney will provide developments in the case, CW vs. Wesley Hadsell, when appropriate to do so.
