[ARCHIVED] Man dies following 2-vehicle crash on Norview Avenue Sunday evening

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has died at the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Norview Avenue Sunday evening.

Around 6 p.m., Norfolk police were called to the 1400 block of Norview Avenue, at the overpass of Interstate 64, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. When police arrived, they located a 23-year-old man who was seriously injured. The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the 23-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Norview Avenue in a Mercedes sedan and crossed over into the westbound lanes where he was struck by a Ford F150.

There were no other injuries reported and no other vehicles were involved.

he man’s identity will be released following family notifications.

Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for review.

Currently, both east and westbound traffic lanes are closed while police investigate. The lanes are expected to be closed for a couple hours.
