[ARCHIVED] 85-year-old woman dies following hit-and-run crash; detectives seeking information

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Vinnie Lanier, 85, died yesterday at the hospital following injuries she sustained in a crash earlier this month and detectives need the public’s help catching the hit-and-run driver.

On February 8, 2019 around 7 p.m., Lanier, of the 200 block of West 32nd Street, was crossing the intersection of Wide and Henry Streets when she was struck by a silver or grey Nissan Altima. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Lanier was initially taken to the hospital in stable condition; however, her condition declined, and she was pronounced dead on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

 

As police continue to investigate this crash, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
