UPDATE: Janyasia Edmonds has been located and is safe. Thank you to everyone who assisted.

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 10-year-old Janyasia Edmonds.

Janyasia was last seen getting ready for school around 6:45 a.m., at her residence in the 2500 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd. on April 8, 2019. Janyasia attends Richard Bowling Elementary; however, she did not return home from school Monday afternoon. Edmonds was last seen wearing a navy-blue shirt, khaki pants and black high top Vans.

Detectives believe she could be with her mother, Shamiaha Edmonds.

If you see Edmonds, police encourage you to call the non-emergency number at 757-441-5610 or contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. You can also submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
