Nauticus’ 6th Annual Frisky on the Wisky Event
Raises Funds for Youth Sailing Program
Norfolk, VA – For the sixth consecutive year, hundreds will gather on the fantail of the Battleship Wisconsin for “Frisky on the Wisky,” a festive fundraiser on Saturday, May 11, from 7 – 10 p.m. benefiting Sail Nauticus Academy. Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk is the presenting sponsor of this year’s event, which offers “the best view on the downtown Norfolk waterfront,” and will include delicious tastings from local restaurants, a signature drink sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, an open bar, live entertainment by MOER, dancing, games and a silent auction.
VIP tickets were available this year, allowing for early admission from 6 -7 p.m. with exclusive tastings by select participating restaurants and complimentary valet parking before the main event begins. These tickets have sold out, but tickets to the main event are still available.
All proceeds benefit the Sail Nauticus Academy, a Nauticus program providing local underserved youth with the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork abilities, explore STEM concepts, learn water safety and build confidence - all through the art and science of sailing.
"We’re so proud to do our part to support the youth of our community," said Propeller Club President, Dana Truxell. "The skills Academy students learn today will carry them to great heights throughout their adult lives."
Participating restaurants include Chef by Design, Hummingbird Macarons & Desserts, Jody’s Popcorn, Rodman’s Barbecue, Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse, Todd Jurich’s Bistro, S’mores Amore and Slide Thru #Fam.
Featured silent auction items include a hands-on sailing experience through the beautiful waters of the San Diego Bay for 2 on the famous America’s Cup yacht, Stars & Stripes USA 11. The package includes roundtrip airfare and hotel.
