NORFOLK, VA – Norview Community Center will host a Community Day on May 4, 2019 from 11am to 2pm at 6380 Sewells Point Road. Get to know your neighbor, get healthy and get information at this fun, free event. Activities include live music, free food, face painting, basketball, bounce house, petting zoo, pony rides and more.
“This year we are excited to host a Health Fair featuring an American Red Cross blood drive, the Sickle Cell Association, Urban League of Hampton Roads, AARP, WIC and CHKD. At Recreation, Parks and Open Space the health and wellness of our community is a top priority. We appreciate the efforts and volunteerism provided by our partners,” said Darrell Crittendon, Director of RPOS.
The Norfolk Police Department will provide a K-9 demonstration and the Norfolk Public Library bookmobile will be onsite. Volunteers from Upsilon Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Nike Factory Store, Endtime United Church of Jesus and Care More Movers will work together with City staff. Musical performances will include Kingdom Kids Marching Band and a hip-hop dance battle. George’s Seafood and the Urban League of Hampton Roads will provide a fish fry.
