[ARCHIVED] Woman dies from injuries sustained in crash on E. Little Creek Road

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - A woman has died following a motor vehicle crash that occurred on E. Little Creek Road Friday afternoon.

Around 5:00 p.m., police were called to the 1100 block of E. Little Creek Road for a vehicle crash with injuries. When police arrived, they located the driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Anitra C. Jones of Norfolk, suffering from serious injuries.

Jones was taken to the hospital for treatment; however, she died shortly after arrival.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Jones was traveling westbound on E. Little Creek Road when her vehicle left the roadway striking two vehicles; Jone’s vehicle overturned and crashed into a light pole. One of the vehicles struck by Jone’s vehicle was occupied by a woman who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.

Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. At this time, it is undetermined whether alcohol or an unknown medical condition contributed to the crash.

As police continue to investigate this crash, they ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
