[ARCHIVED] Police identify man fatally shot at hotel on N. Military Highway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are investigating a shooting that has left a Portsmouth man dead Saturday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., on June 20, 2020 dispatchers received a call for a gunshot victim at the Residence Inn located at 1590 N. Military Highway. When officers arrived, they found two men inside of the hotel suffering from gunshot wounds. 31-year-old Danell M. Lightfoot was pronounced deceased on-scene. The second gunshot victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Lightfoot was shot during a disturbance inside of a hotel room. Police are not looking for any suspects.
