[ARCHIVED] Man arrested following fatal shooting on Hickory Street

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - A Norfolk man has been arrested on charges stemming from a shooting that left one-person dead Monday afternoon.

Around 1:15 p.m., Norfolk police responded to a gunshot victim in the 9400 block of Hickory Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found 53-year-old Darrell W. Moorehouse suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Moorehouse was pronounced deceased on-scene.

As a result of the investigation, Brian M. Tharrington, 19, was arrested and charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this shooting.

Tharrington is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
