[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested in connection with homicide on Oaklawn Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a man on charges stemming from a shooting in May that left a man dead.

On May 30, 2020., around 7:15 p.m. Norfolk Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Oaklawn Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man, Shelvin D. Alston, 30, of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Michael A. Faulkner, 36, of Norfolk, has been arrested and charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm.

Faulkner is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
