[ARCHIVED] Man arrested following barricade situation in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man is in custody after an early morning incident on E. Ingram Court.

Around 2:40 a.m. Norfolk police were dispatched to a domestic call in the 300 block of E. Ingram Court. When officers arrived, they attempted to make contact with an occupant in the home but were unsuccessful. 

As a result, the Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team responded to the location, and the suspect, 21-year-old Joseph E. A. Gustafson III, was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. 

Gustafson III has been charged with domestic assault and strangulation. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
