[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested in connection with 2020 homicide on Fishermans Road

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a man on charges stemming from a shooting in 2020 that left a man dead. 

On March 26, 2020, around 1:30 p.m. Norfolk Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fisherman’s Road for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, Zyron Sanders, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, Tremel M. Denis, 20, was indicted for second degree murder and use of a firearm. Denis was arrested in the City of Chesapeake on April 9, 2021.     

Detectives have not released a motive or the circumstances surrounding this shooting.

Denis is currently being held in the Chesapeake City Jail with no bond.
