[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested, man dies following Tuesday’s shooting on N. Military Highway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left another man dead. 

On May 4, 2021 around 7:40 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of N. Military Highway for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The man, later identified as Christopher J. Hollandsworth, 48, of Chesapeake, was transported to Sentara Leigh Hospital where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. 

The suspect, Edward F. Gadsen Jr., 56, of Norfolk, remained at the scene and was taken into custody by Officers. 

Gadsen Jr. has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this incident.
