NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested and charged two men responsible for the pursuit that ended in the City of Portsmouth.
On July 17, 2021, around 10:30 p.m., officers were in the area of the 900 block of Tunstall Avenue when they saw several people shooting at one another. While the Officers were approaching the scene, the suspects got into a vehicle and started to drive away.
The Officers attempted to pull one of the suspect’s vehicle over when the driver refused to stop.
The Officers continued to pursue the vehicle as it went into Portsmouth, where the driver ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle. After a short foot pursuit two men were taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Detectives have charged 18-year-old Isaiah A. Glover and 24-year-old Shy’Quan A. Dodson, both of Norfolk, with the following: conspiracy, use of a firearm, felony hit and run, use of a machine gun, and carrying a loaded firearm. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Both Glover and Dodson are being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
