[ARCHIVED] Man arrested following disturbance call on Northampton Boulevard

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged a man in connection to Wednesday morning’s disturbance call.  

On September 22, 2021, around 10:30 a.m. police were dispatched for the report of a person with a weapon in the 6000 block of Northampton Boulevard. When Officers arrived, they found the suspect near the intersection of Northampton Boulevard and USAA Drive. After a brief foot pursuit Officers took the suspect into custody, and he was transported to Sentara Leigh Hospital. 

The preliminary investigation has revealed the man was brandishing a firearm at passing cars in the area of Northampton Boulevard and Ikea Way. No injuries were reported during this incident. 

As a result, detectives have charged Rodney L. Marshall, 27, of Norfolk, with Firearm by felon, Brandishing a firearm, Brandishing a firearm within 1000 ft. of a high school, and Disorderly conduct.

Marshall is currently still receiving medical treatment at the hospital and will be transported to Norfolk City Jail upon his release. Arrest Photo - Rodney Marshall
