[ARCHIVED] Richard A. Tucker Memorial Library Hosts Ghoulish Garden Event

NORFOLK, VA – Don your Halloween costumes and bring the family to the new Richard A. Tucker Memorial Library for its Ghoulish Garden Event on Saturday, October 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is located at 2350 Berkley Avenue Ext., next to the Southside Aquatic Center in Norfolk.

Autumn and Halloween-themed photo stations will be set up throughout the 5,000 square-foot Nature Explorium for visitors to take photographs. The beloved book characters Elephant and Piggie will greet children with surprise visits during the day. Enter the Pumpkin Giveaway Contest. We will choose one random winner every hour! Each child will receive a trick-or-treat bag.

The Richard A. Tucker Branch opened on September 17 and is the only library in Virginia with a 5,000 square foot Nature Explorium. The explorium is an outdoor classroom with interactive learning stations that connect learning, literacy and an appreciation of nature, as a regular part of a library visit for children and families.  Learn more at

Face coverings are required for adults and children ages two and up. Visitors must maintain six feet physical distancing. We ask that anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 or recently exposed to the virus not participate.
