[ARCHIVED] Man arrested following barricade situation on Kimball Terrace

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody by Norfolk Police following a barricade situation on Kimball Terrace. 

On December 30, 2023, around 8:32 p.m. Norfolk police were called to a home in the 3200 block of Kimball Terrace for the report of a person with a weapon call. When Officers arrived on scene, they learned that a 29-year-old man had assaulted a 55-year-old man before barricading himself in the home.

The 55-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the assault and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team responded to the scene, and Jaqua M. Tann, 29, was taken into custody without incident around 2:25 a.m.

As a result of the investigation, Tann has been charged with malicious wounding and robbery. Tann also had other outstanding warrants for charges unrelated to this incident on file at the time of his arrest.

He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.MissingRunaway
