[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian dies following late-night crash on N. Military Highway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has died after being hit by a car on N. Military Highway on Friday night.

On June 21, 2024, around 10:50 p.m., first responders were called to the 500 block of N. Military Highway for the report of a car accident involving a pedestrian. When Officers arrived, they found a man suffering from serious injuries. 

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died as a result of his life-threatening injuries. 

The man’s identity will be released pending notification of a next-of-kin.

The driver involved remained at the scene following the crash and was uninjured.  

Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for review.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol to be a contributing factor.
