[ARCHIVED] 18-year-old dies following shooting on Grantham Road

NORFOLK, Va. – (NPD) A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a shooting on Grantham Road that left an 18-year-old man dead. 

Around 3:00 a.m. on July 18, 2024, Officers were called to a home in the 500 block of Grantham Road for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The man, later identified as Branden M. Davis Jr., 18, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm causing injury, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody at the scene.
