[ARCHIVED] Woman arrested following barricade situation on Guam Parkway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a domestic-related barricade situation overnight on Guam Parkway.

On August 22nd, around 11:10 p.m. Norfolk police responded to a home in the 8300 block of Guam Parkway for the report of a person with a weapon call. It was reported to police that a woman had barricaded herself in a home with a weapon. When officers arrived, they attempted to make contact with the occupant of a residence but were unsuccessful. 

The Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team responded to the scene, and after a brief period of negotiations, the woman, Cherizme L. Hill, 31, of Norfolk, came out of the house and was taken into custody peacefully.

Hill has been charged with domestic assault, brandishing a firearm, and child endangerment. 

She is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

No injuries were reported during this incident. MissingRunaway
