[ARCHIVED] Man dies following late-night shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has died following a shooting in Coleman Place.

On October 10th, around 8:22 p.m. police were called to the 1500 block of Kerrey Avenue for the report of a car accident. When officers arrived, they found the driver of the car suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.  

The man, later identified as Christian J. Williams, 48, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. 

The preliminary investigation has determined that the shooting occurred in the 4600 block of Kincaid Avenue and the man drove to the 1500 block of Kerrey Avenue where he hit another car. 

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstance surrounding this incident.
