NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting that left another man dead.
On January 15th around 11:00 p.m., police were called to the 1900 block of Greenleaf Drive for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man, identified as 23-year-old, Miyett A. Little Jr., of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police took the suspect into custody at the scene.
Following their investigation, detectives charged Lamont C. Whitaker, 24, of Suffolk, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
Whitaker is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Detectives have not released a motive or any additional circumstances surrounding this shooting.
